Artist Statement

I create art works from thoughts, feelings, personal experiences and scenarios I like to play over in my mind, whether it be fantasy or reality. I am expressive of my own mood and views within my work, though this is mainly done through expressive mark making and the use of objects, rather than being directly representational.  I use a number of learned techiniques within my art including painting, photography, printmaking and sculpture, though I enjoy the curiosity of discovering something new, when being creative. I am interested in social interaction and how people behave with one another, and I learn a lot about people through their interpretation of my work and discussions about the art scene, both locally and globally. When others make their views of my art work known to me, I find that I am responsive to my audience, but this often genrates more ideas and creativity. The nature of my work is fluid and I do not always have a definitive end result in my mind, I often revisit ideas and concepts altering them along the way, until I decide that the work is complete.
