Artist Statement

Sara creates art works that reflect how we live and interact today, conveying with passion her own mood and views. Works are created using her observations of people, their differences, conflicts and endeavours for resolution. She produces work that challenge both her and the viewer creatively and philosophically mainly through expressive mark making, rather than being directly representational. Often working from photographs she has taken or images or sketches ,these snapshots of everyday life are used as a starting point for her paintings which offer a form of escapism, a time to contemplate.

Sara has worked extensively with engaging individuals and groups in art activities through voluntary work within the health sector and through paid commissions at social events, such as music festivals. The enjoyment of working with others has led Sara to continue her own professional development and work towards a Professional Graduate Diploma in Teaching. Sara currently works with A Level students, studying Art and photography at The Lace Martket in Nottingham.
